| Work description | The 22-story building has 3 levels of parking. It was observed that drive aisle slab is over-stressed with visible signs of deterioration and strength degradation. At every girder line, cracks exceeding one-half inch in opening size were present at the top of the drive aisle slabs. Overhead slab soffits similarly displayed widespread cracking. The scope of this project includes (A) Provide supplemental reinforcing for the existing 5” slab by adding concrete beams to reduce the existing slab spans. (B) Chip the top of concrete girders and a portion of adjacent slabs down 2.5 inches and add supplemental top reinforcing. Finish with concrete, pour back. |
