| Work description | This project consists of a Level 1 Alteration to an existing rooftop deck in accordance with CBC Chapter 34 code sections 3401.4 and 3404.1. The scope of work is limited to the following: - Installation of a new raised deck surface over the existing legally permitted rooftop deck. - Refinishing of the existing rooftop deck surface where applicable. - The raised decking shall terminate a minimum of 36 inches from the existing perimeter guardrail, maintaining the “adjacent walkway” to the legally existing non-conforming guardrail. - No expansion of the existing rooftop deck, occupied area, building footprint, building height, occupancy, or occupant load is proposed. - Existing perimeter guardrails shall remain unchanged as legally existing conditions. No modifications to the existing structural system or previously approved life-safety features are included in this scope. The proposed work is limited to a Level 1 Alteration as defined by CBC Chapter 34 and is not intended to alter the existing use, occupancy, or occupant load of the rooftop deck |
