Only joints exhibiting erosion, cracking, separation, or mortar loss will be repaired. Sound existing mortar and historic brick will remain undisturbed. Deteriorated mortar will be removed to an appropriate depth without damaging adjacent brick and replaced with LimeWorks.us Ecologic Mortar (Natural Hydraulic Lime NHL 3.5, Coarse Gradation G), matching the existing joint width, profile, texture, and finish. Masonry will be appropriately dampened during installation and the completed work protected to promote proper curing. No changes to the building's design, windows, doors, cornice, trim, or other architectural features are proposed. Localized paint touch-up may be performed over repaired joints to match the existing painted masonry. |
