| Work description | This project will conduct a geoarchaeological survey of an approximately 22-acre project area at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) in Washington, D.C. All work will be conducted pursuant to the Guidelines for Archaeological Investigations in the District of Columbia (DC HPO 1998) and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA; 16 USC ? 3001 et seq.). The goal of the geoarchaeological survey analysis is to determine if the project area contains areas of intact natural soils that could contain potentially significant archaeological deposits. Project work will consist of (28) 2" diameter soil borings, taken to a depth of 15'. Post soil analysis, the removed soil will be placed back into its original location. All boring hole locations will be compacted to match finished grade. |
